Marina’s Full Story
How Marina Lost 20kg, Got Stronger, and Rebuilt Her Confidence with CMG Coaching
When Marina first started coaching with CMG, she wasn’t just looking to lose weight. She wanted to feel like herself again. After spending a long period focused on study, desk work, and putting her own health on the back burner, she found herself feeling heavier, weaker, and disconnected from the active version of herself she used to know. One of her biggest long-term goals? To feel strong and confident enough to eventually return to pole fitness.
Six months later, the results speak for themselves.
The Starting Point
When Marina began, her goals were clear:- Lose body fat- Build strength- Improve confidence in the gym- Create a healthier, more sustainable relationship with training and food- Build back toward returning to pole fitness Like many people starting a fitness journey, Marina wasn’t just worried about the physical challenge — she was also carrying concerns around consistency, confidence, and whether she’d be able to stick to it long enough to see results. In her words: “It felt like a huge mountain to climb.
The Results After 6 Months
Over the course of six months, Marina achieved:- Around 19–20kg of fat loss- Around 2kg of muscle gain- Major improvements in gym confidence- Consistent progress in strength training- A return to pole-related movement and confidence She also built strength in a way that felt meaningful and empowering. This wasn’t just about seeing the scale move. It was about becoming someone who could walk into the gym with confidence, lift heavier, move better, and feel more capable in her own body. Building Strength That Actually Matters
One of the biggest wins for Marina was seeing measurable progress in her strength. She built confidence around barbell lifts, progressed through major gym movements, and started to feel physically capable in a way she hadn’t in a long time. Some standout wins included:- Squatting around 85kg- Progressing pull-up strength with 36kg assistance- Feeling stronger and more supported through her upper body and backAnd perhaps more importantly, she no longer felt stuck.“I feel like every week I was able to make some progress.”That consistency became one of the most important parts of the journey. Why This Time Was DifferentMarina had tried PT before, but this experience felt different. In the past, training had felt like something she showed up for once a week — without much structure, support, or connection to her long-term goals. This time, the process was built around her. That included:- A training plan tailored to her goals- Support around nutrition- A realistic online coaching structure she could actually stick to- A flexible approach that worked with her life, not against itAs Marina put it:“The programme genuinely felt tailored to the goals we discussed.”That sense of structure and purpose made a huge difference.Rebuilding ConfidenceOne of the biggest shifts wasn’t just physical — it was mental. At the start, one of Marina’s biggest worries was whether she’d be able to stay consistent, especially while training independently. She was also concerned about slipping back into unhealthy patterns around food or giving up when things got difficult.Instead, what she found was something far more valuable than a short-term transformation:She found a baseline she could maintain.“I’ve found a baseline that I can actually keep to.”That’s the difference between a quick fix and real coaching.Looking AheadMarina’s next phase is all about maintenance, strength, and gradually bringing pole fitness back into the picture in a sustainable way. That’s the goal of good coaching — not just helping someone make progress for a few months, but helping them build a body and routine that supports the life they actually want to live. For Marina, strength training is no longer just something she “should” do.It’s become the foundation for confidence, movement, and returning to something she loves.Marina’s Advice to Anyone Nervous About StartingIf someone feels nervous about getting started, Marina’s advice is simple:“The first step is always going to be the hardest.”And that’s exactly why support matters.Starting the gym can feel intimidating. Machines, weights, and unfamiliar spaces can make people feel like they don’t belong. But as Marina says, once someone shows you what to do and gives you the confidence to start, everything changes.Thinking About Starting? If you’ve been putting yourself off, waiting until you feel more ready, or telling yourself you’ll “start when life calms down”
Marina’s story is proof that change doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful. You just need the right support, the right plan, and a place to begin. Want help building strength, confidence, and a plan that actually works for your life?Get in touch with CMG Coaching today.
